Sandy Brook

Judicial Arbiter Group, Inc.

Sanford M. (Sandy) Brook Bio Clarence Darrow CLE Sanford M. “Sandy” Brook is a former Chief Judge of the Indiana Court of Appeals. Before appointment to the Appellate Court, he served as a Trial Judge. Sandy is engaged in ADR at the Judicial Arbiter Group (JAG) in Denver. As a trial lawyer Sandy tried 65 jury trials to verdict. He taught nationally and internationally in the areas of Evidence and Trial Advocacy, serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Notre Dame and Nottingham (England) Law Schools. Sandy has a lifelong interest in acting and the theater. He studied court room theater in an unusual way – as a trial lawyer, trial judge, and advocacy instructor. His real-life experience with the art of storytelling and persuasion, coupled with his commitment to the critical importance of an independent judiciary, makes his presentation of Clarence Darrow a natural fit. Sandy has enjoyed success in theatrical performances of Clarence Darrow, a play by David Rintels based upon Irving Stone’s Clarence Darrow for the Defense. He creatively uses his theater performance of Darrow as a backdrop for a memorable and instructional CLE. Sandy ‘s presentation brings to life the emotion, oratory skill, and courtroom drama of an extraordinary lawyer, Clarence Darrow.
